Turner Street Music Hall is a non-profit organization serving the residents and artists of Wrightstown, Wisconsin and the surrounding Lower Fox Valley, Fox Cities to Green Bay.

Located in an iconic 1911 brick and limestone architectural gem, formerly St. John’s Lutheran Church, Turner Street Music Hall stands at the corner of Turner and Fair Streets, overlooking the Village of Wrightstown’s River District.

Our primary goals are:

  • To cultivate community for audiences and artists by providing cultural and educational programming, performance space, educational space, and gathering space.
  • To develop programming appropriate for the natural acoustics of the hall.
  • To re-vitalize and sustain the historic structure and its unique character.

Teaching and Education

Turner Street Music Hall is dedicated to providing individual lessons, ensemble classes, and space for musical community. Students will benefit by having easy and reliable access to the Main Hall for recitals and performances.

Concerts and Events

With its seating for 305, large stage, sound system, and theatre lighting, the main hall is ideal for acoustic and lightly amplified music of all types. Whether you’re looking to perform a concert or come listen to your favorite band, the unique and intimate atmosphere at Turner Street Music Hall is sure to enhance your experience. The main hall is perfect for  String Quartets  ~  Jazz Combos  ~  Bluegrass Bands  ~  Chamber Music & Small Orchestras  ~  Unplugged Rock Bands   ~  Choirs  ~  Folk Music Groups  ~  Solo Performances  ~   Student Recitals  ~  and Dance Recitals.  Additionally, the main hall is outfitted with an amazing pipe organ, and a 9 foot Yamaha concert grand piano.

This former church is also an ideal setting for  ~  Weddings  ~   Confirmations  ~  Vow Renewals  ~   Presentations.

Walter C Croll

Walter is the executive director of and driving force behind Turner Street Music Hall. His introduction to music began in Rochester, MN, starting the cello at the age of eight. He soon after took up the banjo, guitar, upright bass, and bass guitar.  At fourteen he started playing with the Zumbro River Rangers, a local Bluegrass group, and began teaching at Loy’s Music in Rochester. His teaching resume also includes several years at The Podium in Minneapolis, MN, and over a decade at Brickhouse Music in River Falls, WI. Throughout the years he has added the violin, viola, dobro, lap steel, ukulele, and mandolin to his musical stable. Walter’s performance experience is diverse, having played in the country band Midnight Sun, the variety band Midnight Express, an original blues music band Blues Rocket, a jazz and originals band Luna & the Sun Brothers, and hundreds of weddings and events. Walter has a B.S. in Music (Viola) and French from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls.
